Who/What/Where/When

9th – 12th graders (I will accept advanced 8th graders on a case by case basis)

Students will learn to recognize arguments, identify premises and conclusions, spot and avoid common fallacies, evaluate evidence, and develop clarity in speaking and writing. We will use puzzles, discussions, debates, and real-world examples, to practice analyzing media, participating in thoughtful discussions, and write clearly reasoned arguments of their own.

Class meets at my home near Mardel (exact address will be given at registration)

Meets Wednesdays 3:00 -4:00pm

Costs
  • $35 a month (first month due upon registration/ doubles as non-refundable deposit)
  • $5 registration/ materials fee
  • I accept cash, check, and Venmo

  • 1″ binder
  • notebook paper in binder for taking notes and doing in-class assignments
  • pencils/ pens
  • the ability to print as needed
  • the ability to research online and at the library as needed
  • the ability to check Google Classroom weekly
