My daughter has enjoyed Mrs. Hoggard’s writing class this year, and has learned many new and interesting techniques for both technical and creative writing. Mrs. Hoggard has been thorough in teaching the concepts, and it is very easy to communicate with her. I am thankful that my daughter has been pushed outside her “comfort zone” when asked to participate in class. We like the small class size and the price is very reasonable. These writing classes are awesome because Mrs. Hoggard makes the lessons understandable, and she also provides the students with excellent advice on their papers. We often get flexibility in what we get to write, as well as having fun and interesting topics. There is enough freedom to enjoy my writing, but also enough structure that I know what to expect. I feel like I will always be prepared when I have to write in the future, and I can see major improvement every year because of Mrs. Hoggard’s teaching. I highly recommend Mrs. Hoggard’s class to anyone who wants to learn writing. I recently looked through my papers from when I just started and what my papers are now, I have learned a tremendous amount about writing since I started in 2021. From grammar, how to write a good paragraph, and how to situate your paper, to how to tie an essay together and how to write a good creative story. Though, I’m sure there is more to come and more for me to learn. I have started truly enjoying writing because of her classes and I hope anyone who wants to learn how to write well will join. – high school student
